Plumbing in Tallinn and Harju County since 2002
Tallinn Torutööd is a family business that started in Viimsi in 2002 and today there are 18 people in the team. From 2002 to the end of 2025, we performed 55,411 jobs, there were 32,787 customers, and among them 1,214 apartment associations. Of these customers, 11,893 have called a plumber more than once. Based on the contract, we draw a diagram on the wall of the heating substation of the apartment association and the boiler room of the detached house, where you can see the location of each shut-off valve. We agree the time window for changing the riser with the apartment association two working days in advance and put a notice in the stairwell, because during the replacement of the floor section, the water is shut off in the riser for 3 hours and it affects all the apartments in that riser.
Our office is on Akadeemia tee in Mustamäe. From there, we serve apartment buildings in Lasnamäe and detached houses in Keila and Saue.
Breakdown in 45 Minutes, with Clear Conditions
In Tallinn, we arrive at an emergency call in 45 minutes, the call-out fee is €7.40 within Tallinn and the work carried out is covered by a 2-year written workmanship warranty. The day's visits are distributed among the vans by region in a 15-minute meeting held in the office before the first call-out. There were 812 emergency calls in 2023, 829 in 2024, and 847 in 2025, and total jobs totaled 2,951, 2,968, and 2,987, respectively.
As a family business, we recruit apprentices from vocational schools: from 2005 to the end of 2025, we have had 38 apprentices. Our plumbers know the specific features of the risers of Tallinn apartment buildings and the well systems of detached houses in Harju County.
Toomas Kurg and Two Generations of Plumbers
Tallinn Torutööd started in 2002 as a family business in Viimsi and its founder is Toomas Kurg. In the first year, the company performed 488 jobs with one van: installed boilers and repaired leaks in apartments and detached houses. A year later, Ülo Kärp joined the team, and together with him, the company's work included boiler rooms and heating units, the maintenance of which he still manages today. Between 2003 and the end of 2007, 4,936 jobs were carried out with the two vans.
In 2008, three plumbers started working, who are still in the company today: emergency plumber Margus Kivistik, heating plumber Andres Kuusik and riser plumber Peeter Kreek. With them, the risers of apartment associations, radiators and heating pipelines in apartment buildings came into the company's work. Five vans performed 17,309 jobs from 2008 to the end of 2014. The second generation of the family business came to work in 2015: Oskar Kurg replaces boiler heating elements and installs new boilers. With six vans, 32,678 jobs have been carried out from 2015 to the end of 2025.
Today, Tallinn Torutööd employs 18 people. The company's address is Akadeemia tee 78 in Mustamäe, and one of the six vans only waits for emergency calls on weekdays, while the other five do scheduled work. In Tallinn, the emergency plumber is at the leak in 45 minutes, and the on-call plumber accepts emergency calls in the evenings and weekends. In 2025, there were 2,251 customers, and 1,384 of them ordered plumbing for the first time.
At the end of each job, the plumber pressurizes the pipeline to 10 bars and writes a protocol for handing over the result. Toomas Kurg himself draws the diagrams of shut-off valves of contracted houses on the wall of the heating substation or boiler room. By the end of 2025, the scheme he drew was on the walls of 143 houses.
